What exactly is GLUCUBE?
GLUCUBE is a non-invasive medical device for the complementary monitoring of glucose in adults with type 2 diabetes. It uses near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technology combined with advanced cloud-based signal processing to measure glucose without requiring a finger prick for each reading. The complete system includes the device, the GLUCUBE APP for the patient, and GLUCUBE PANEL for healthcare professionals. It was developed in Spain in collaboration with the University of Seville and clinically validated at the H.U. Virgen Macarena and H.U. Virgen del Rocío hospitals in Seville.
Does GLUCUBE eliminate finger pricks entirely?
GLUCUBE allows you to measure glucose without a finger prick for each reading. For the initial calibration and to confirm out-of-range values, you will still need the capillary glucose meter included in the kit.
Is it approved as a medical device?
Yes. GLUCUBE holds CE marking as a medical device, certifying that it meets the safety and efficacy requirements established by Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR).
Do I need a subscription to use GLUCUBE?
Yes. The subscription gives you access to all GLUCUBE features: processing your measurements, accessing your full history at any time, and getting the most out of the GLUCUBE device, GLUCUBE APP, and GLUCUBE PANEL. Your purchase includes the first 3 months at no cost. From month 4 onwards, you can choose the plan that suits you best: monthly (€9.99), quarterly (€8.99), or annual (€7.99).
Who is it intended for?
GLUCUBE is intended for adults with type 2 diabetes who are not insulin-dependent and are under active medical supervision.
It is not intended for:
- Insulin-dependent type 1 diabetics whose diabetes is not under control. If you are a type 1 diabetic, please consult your doctor before starting to use the device.
- People in a state of shock or in a critical condition.
- People with calluses, deformities or open wounds on their fingers, whether exposed to the air or covered with dressings or bandages.
- People unable to keep their hand steady during measurement or with a progressive nervous system disorder that may cause hand movements affecting the measurement.
- People with visual impairments.
- People with polished nails or any type of artificial nails.
- People with a condition affecting blood circulation in the fingers, such as Raynaud’s phenomenon.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women.
- Paediatric patients.
